What is this site?

This site has been developed by the School of Architecture and Design at RMIT University in collaboration with ADAPT-r and a number of Australian universities. The full list of partners is provided on the front page.

The site is intended to provide a location for the collection and curation of research artefacts relating to creative practice research, a community space within which researchers/practitioners can share their thinking, their projects and their ideas and a space within which to provide open courses for those interested in creative practice research.

How do I register on the site?

You can register for free on the site by clicking on the Register link in the top left:

When you register you can either use the “Connect with” buttons to use your Google or Twitter accounts to register or you can create a new account by completing the username and password fields in the registration form.

If you are an RMIT University student or at a university that uses Google for managing student email then you can connect using the Google button and your university account.

How do the courses work?

At the moment there are three courses planned for the site although this may grow in future. The courses are:

  • An introduction to creative practice research – this will be an open course for those interested in becoming creative practice researchers. It will be free to register and open to anyone.
  • ARCH4129 Creative Practice Research Strategies 2016 – a course for candidates at RMIT University
  • Supervising creative practice researchers – this will be an open course for supervisors of creative practice research students

How do I enroll myself in a course?

There is only one course available at present and that course is for students at RMIT University.

You must first be registered in the site to take a course. See this FAQ for information about registering.

To enroll yourself click on the course link from the home page and then click the “Take this course” button from the main course page as shown below:

How do I change my profile photo?

You can change your profile photo by moving your mouse over your name at the top right and then moving your mouse over “Profile” and then clicking “Change Profile Photo”. You can upload and crop an image to suit or you can use a web cam to capture a photo.

How do I change the notifications I receive?

All members of the site can configure the notifications settings. You do this by clicking on your name in the top right and then clicking on the Settings item on the new page and then clicking on the Email link in the next page. You will then be presented with a list of options for the types of activity for which you will be notified.
